Opening Reception / Artist Talks: January 20, 2018, 2 – 4 pm.
The Canadian Sculpture Centre kicked off the New Year with launching of their Kudos IV exhibition on January 18. The show was organized primarily as an expression of gratitude to the patrons, volunteers and artists of the Sculptors Society of Canada; hence the title ‘kudos’ which according to the Oxford Dictionary is the Greek term for ‘praise.’
Each creation at the Canadian Sculpture Centre’s Kudos IV stood out in their own unique way. Each artist present spoke about how their pieces developed both as individual work and as part of their oeuvres. Many artists delved into the process in which their work came into life, feeling strongly that their original thoughts went through stages of changes. The attendees of the opening got to hear about the sources of inspirations and be able to converse with the artists about their thought while processing those pieces.
