Artists for Artists / Emerging practices for professional visual artists
September 18 – 21, 2014, Toronto
In partnership with the Manifesto Festival of Community and Culture
How is the business model for artists changing? What new tools are successful emerging artists using? How do we make sure that artist are paid fairly in this shifting landscape?
This fall visual artists from across Canada will meet in Toronto to answer these questions at CARFAC’s national annual conference, Artists for Artists. In partnership with Manifesto, Canada’s largest urban music and arts festival, this year’s theme is emerging practices for professional artists. Panels will also explore the state of performance art in Canada and fees for performance artists.
Participants will have the opportunity to mingle with your fellow artists at events like the reception for the National Visual Arts Advocate Award. And there will be lots of art and music to take in between our Toronto gallery art crawl and the action packed Manifesto programming.
