Heffel Fine Art Auction House has announced a remarkable collection of masterworks for the upcoming Spring 2014 live auction. This season’s diverse lineup, exhibits the breadth of Canadian artistic talent, and is expected to reach sales of six to eight million dollars, according to conservative estimates.
This season brings with it influential works illustrative of each of the country’s major regions and truly captures and spans the rich artistic fabric of Canada, ranging from rare early illustrations of Emily Carr’s native British Columbia, to William Kurelek’s depictions of childhood on the Prairies, to classics by the world-famous Group of Seven – breathtakingly representative of the Canadian countryside – to Quebec City master Jean Paul Lemieux’s portrayal of everyday life in Quebec, and finally, the rich, colourful Maritimes-inspired paintings of David Blackwood.
The live auction will take place in Vancouver on May 28, 2014.
