The Toronto School of Art (TSA) – one of the city’s longest running, independent and not-for-profit art schools has just announced plans to reopen this May after its sudden closure last fall.
Welcoming back students and faculty, the TSA will reopen at a new location at 980 Dufferin Street on the second floor of a refurbished TDSB high school building. The TSA was revived by three Toronto business leaders who were students of the school’s Saturday morning sculpture class: Aldo Cundari, Sol Roter and Brian Bradstreet. Recognizing the school was a local landmark for the arts, the trio immediately set to work to secure a new facility, steering committee and spring schedule of classes.
