With an exhibition of new paintings, drawings and sculpture, Morley Shayuk says of his new work, ” “New World” is a new body of work that employs familiar compositional devices drawn from traditions of landscape painting to invite viewers to experience unhindered states of joy. Loosely responding to notions of community, healing and re-growth, a trellis sculpture conjures images of suns, turtles and butterflies in an unabashed attempt to express a fundamental condition of peace. It seeks single moments of truth and communion with nature via landscape paintings of southern Ontario.”

Morley Shayuk is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist from Aurora, Ontario. He has exhibited paintings, drawings, sculpture and video annually with Paul Petro Contemporary Art since 2009, and most recently has published “EWW”; an artist booklet on Canadian modernist sculptor Elizabeth Wyn Wood (1903-1966) in collaboration with writer Adam Lauder. Shayuk has been featured in Hunter and Cook magazine.
