Currents of Being works by Audrey Smith www. audreysmithartist.com
Audrey wrote, “This exhibition reflects my goal to communicate the tides of movement and change that pulse just below the outward realities of our existence. In this body of work this energy is manifested in color, line, brushstroke, form and symbolism. A secret thought or glance, a subtle movement, often a stillness are juxtaposed with the rich and passionate brush stokes and lines. Change, growth and evolution, both personal and societal, define who we are, how we live our lives and give color to our dreams. They are our birthright and they are our legacy. Everything is possible, everything, with the willingness and ability to grow and evolve.
Inspired by the human form, my artwork focuses on the concepts of transition and transformation. My personal vision is expressed through fluid, spontaneous layers of medium and imagery. Evocative and serendipitous mark making create a turbulent context for otherwise serene characters. “
