Fairy tales, as with legends and tales of morality, have been passed down and preserved, from generation to generation.  Transformed by each teller or writer of tales and reinterpreted by each listener and reader.

Jack and the Bean Stock has evolved over the last three years.  The work began as a research project in which people were asked which fairy tale and memories stood out most clearly in each person’s mind.  Responses were collected, interpreted and preserved in mason jars containing a pickling solution and left to souse over the years.  Over time the contents slowly change in reaction to the infusion.

The preserved memories made manifest in this on-going work were collected in hope of passing them on for future generations to enjoy.
