Please come join us next week for the first ever SpeakEasy Jam Session.
We are pleased to announce the launch of the new “SpeakEasy Jam Sessions.” We are going back to the roots of our events, and the SpeakEasy gang invites you to come out and join us for a beer and spirited conversation. No art on the walls, no door fees, no attitude, just like-minded folks coming together to talk about art.
SpeakEasy Jam Sessions are social gatherings for creative individuals. Artists, designers, craft makers, curators, gallery owners and collectors are all invited to come together and share a casual evening. There are no rules nor any formal structure. Simply come down to the pub, grab a drink and join the conversation, or maybe shoot a game of pool.
Come alone or bring a friend, everyone is always welcome!

New this year, SpeakEasy’s one-night gatherings will transformed into week-long juried exhibitions. Open to established and emerging artists from all disciplines, the all new SpeakEasy Art Fairs will feature local artists from a variety of creative backgrounds.
SpeakEasy was established in 1996 and has made a dramatic impact on the local creative community. For over 15 years SpeakEasy hosted single night events designed to bring creative types together to share ideas and inspiration. We have experienced increasing interest year after year and have continued to introduce emerging artists into the Toronto art scene.
In 2012 SpeakEasy is pleased to announce the launch of our Spring and Fall Art Fairs. These week-long juried exhibitions will offer our artists an extended period of time for display and promotion. The exhibition will include an opening night celebration on the the First Thursday of the month. The new extend exhibition hours will allow more visitors to see the show and give art writers and critics a chance to review and write about the events.
SpeakEasy Art Fairs seek to achieve the following goals:
Explore and identify local emerging talent
Foster dialogue and exchange between local creative types
Support and promote original and fresh ideas
The selection of artists for each show will be based on the following:
Creativity and innovation
Excellence of execution
