September 23, 2 – 11 pm, Queen St. West / Cowan
This community event was largely organized by the Parkdale Residents Association and in particular a few key organizers like Ric Amis and Kelly Foote with the support of a few volunteers. I was there in the early hours so didn’t get to see it at night. It seemed to have attracted a good crowd to visit the forty+ booths set up.
There were crafts, painters and live performance including magic and music. I watched the magician, Spencer Scurr, who had a good repertoire and was engaging the public. Most of the artists were local which gave them an opportunity to sell some work and get get some exposure. The weather was perfect and even the Parkdale Public Library had a book sale.
The vision of the event was “To provide an integrated community event that showcases professionals next to budding artists, kids’ art next to home artists, performers next to community arts programs, and arts’ supplies vendors next to installations. “
Artist, Julie Campagna
Artist, Elva Hook
Artist, Shannon Sandwell
Perhaps this event will grow next year and get more support financially and more volunteers. Kudos to the skeleton crew that put the event together in a rather short time.

This was an incredible event. Thank you so very much for allowing me to have an opportunity to showcase my art. It was wonderful to see neighbours and everyone come together.
Thanks for the exposure of Parkdale integrated Arts. I met new people and was able to interact positively. We all are looking forward to seeing more activities in the future.
