D., B.A., Counsel at 7:30 p.m.<br \/>\n<strong>LAUSBERG CONTEMPORARY<\/strong><br \/>\n326 Dundas Street West<br \/>\nToronto, Ontario M5T 1G5<br \/>\nT: 416.516.4440<br \/>\nE: <a href=\"mailto:toronto@galerie-lausberrg.com\">toronto@galerie-lausberrg.com<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.galerie-lausberg.com\/\">www.galerie-lausberg.com<\/a><br \/>\nHours: Tues\u2013Sun 12\u20136 or by appointment<\/p>\n<p>We are pleased to announce the feature exhibit status granted to the solo exhibition of Katharina Mayer: Theatrum Familiae at the 2012 CONTACT Photography Festival.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mayer\u2019s Theatrum Familiae<\/strong> represents the fourth consecutive solo artist exhibit of the gallery in as many years honored with this status: M+M: Good Timing Bad Timing 2009, James Robert Durant: Tropical Punch 2010 and Llu\u00eds Barba: Travelers in Time 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The German photographer Katharina Mayer (born 1958)\u00a0was a Master student of Hilla &amp; Bernd Becher and Nan Hoover at the world renowned Duesseldorf Kunstakademie associated with such prolific artists as Joseph Beuys, Gerhard Richter, Candida H\u00f6fer and Andreas Gursky.<\/p>\n<p>In her project familia, a lifelong project the artist commenced in 2001, Katharina Mayer focuses on the life\u2019s most crucial element: the family as a global and universal way of life and what importance it has in communicating ethical and moral values. The photographer visits families in various cities to capture them often in their most familiar context: at home.
