After trips to Italy and France, his work turned more explicitly abstract. In 1997 received a PhD in Arts. His work is in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Albania.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Mikel, who immigrated to Canada in 2000, resides in Vancouver, British Columbia.
