Reality Television allows\u00a0for an interchange between the exhibitionist and the voyeur.\u00a0\u00a0Social Media is a powerful tool to unite and give voice to a\u00a0populace or bring to light that which was meant to be hidden or\u00a0to promulgate lies and rumours. We are open to the discomforts\u00a0of scrutiny yet feel entitled to gape.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Utilizing the carnival sideshow illusion &#8220;Girl in a Fishbowl&#8221; as a\u00a0point of departure, Artists in a Fishbowl is a site-specific\u00a0installation and performance work. The show-front banner\u00a0proclaims that what is seen when peering into the fishbowl is\u00a0Live and Alive. Utilizing arcane carnival trickery and\u00a0contemporary technology WeSee Inc. allows a peek into what\u00a0goes on inside the artists&#8217; studio in real time. Submerged within\u00a0a fishbowl is a sea shell. Within the shell is the miniaturized\u00a0studio of WeSee Inc. Sometimes dark and quiet but often the\u00a0lights come on and the miniature underwater studio comes alive\u00a0with aquatic artistic activity. Often as not, the physicality of\u00a0creative function is interrupted by pauses for critical thinking; the\u00a0scratching of tiny heads; tiny coffee breaks; occasional\u00a0interruptions by tiny aqua-cats; and the various other\u00a0mundanities that tiny submerged artists do in their daily lives.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><strong>September 6 &#8211; October 7, 2011<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Roadside Attractions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> Artists in a Fishbowl is a site-specific installation and performance work.
