The show will also feature abstract series painted in a past year.

Tanya Klochkov was born in Ukraine, lived in Israel and moved to Canada in 2002. She completed a Fine Arts Painting Certificate program through George Brown College in Toronto and is constantly pursuing art education with professional artists in Toronto. Tanya participated in number of juried and non-juried group exhibitions and belongs to Israeli Artists Group of Toronto.

Her favourite themes are portraiture, figure and abstract painting. Living in a big city like Toronto, the artist is inspired by urban life style; and transforms her impressions into abstract paintings.

“Balancing” Series is about balancing between positive and negative sides of life and ultimately accepting the life as it is- having different colours. The image of a woman doing balancing yoga poses is a representational image of the artist’s idea. The physical and mental balancing requires the same- strong core, flexibility and sense of balance. This body of works is about the process of balancing and not being in a state of balance. Next moment may bring unexpected news -joy or sadness –and we need to know how to rebalance ourselves in order not to fall.

This figurative abstract series are mixed media works. The artist used fluid acrylic, pastel as well as added newsprint and Japanese rice paper, experimenting with different techniques, such as: scrapping, pouring, stamping and collage. The blue colour scheme suggests a calming, yet peaceful mood, the feel emotional acceptance brings.

http://tanyaklochkov.fineartstudioonline.com/

August 23 – 26, 2012

Imagine Art School and Gallery

“Balancing” Series is about balancing between positive and negative sides of life

[25

post-13563","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-listings_archive
["GET
