Often imitated but never duplicated The ORIGINAL SQUARE FOOT SHOW 2012 presented by AWOL Gallery (Toronto, Canada) is celebrating its milestone 10 Year Anniversary.<\/p>\n

Since its inception in 2003<\/strong>, The Annual Square Foot Show<\/strong> has since positioned itself as one of the finest celebrations of the vibrant artist community that helps make Toronto special. The AWOL Gallery Collective<\/strong> has worked tirelessly to help promote New & Established Visual Artists from all over the world with this very special art event. With hundreds of artists and over a thousand works of art, AWOL Gallery promises a dynamic visual art experience. Be the first to see the show at the Exclusive Gala Charity Reception<\/strong> or join the queue for the exciting Artist\u2019s Reception<\/strong>, traditionally attracting hundreds with a line up to get inside. The Square Foot<\/strong> experience is a fun, visual delight. The shows appeal is in the collective creative energy of having hundreds of local, national, and international artists showcasing their work in a central location.<\/p>\n

Now in it\u2019s Tenth year<\/strong>, The Square Foot Show<\/strong> is one of AWOL Collective<\/strong>\u2019s proudest achievements and they plan to make this another very special celebration of visual art and the artists that create it. Square Foot<\/strong> brings together artists from a variety of backgrounds, disciplines and career levels, offering their work at $225 per piece<\/em>. Established and emerging artists are provided with a distinctive group show opportunity while exposing their work to galleries and collectors. The Square Foot Show<\/strong> is a must-see event for artists and collectors alike. Having long outgrown it\u2019s original home at the AWOL Gallery<\/strong>, Square Foot<\/strong> will be presented off-site in the Twist Gallery<\/strong> venue at 1100 Queen West. Twist Gallery provides the perfect space to experience a show of this magnitude; accommodating over a thousand pieces of art and hundreds of art lovers.<\/p>\n

This year AWOL will be hosting a ticketed Gala Preview on Friday August 3rd from 7:00 to 10:00 pm<\/strong>. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door, with proceeds from ticket sales going to support local charities, The Daily Bread Food Bank and Arts For Children and Youth.<\/p>\n

The AWOL Gallery<\/strong> Original Square Foot Show has inspired numerous imitation shows in Toronto and throughout North America. However, it has been AWOL\u2019s commitment to a non-juried, affordable, international community exhibition that has continually kept the show unique, fun, and versatile. This years Original Square Foot Ten Year Anniversary Exhibition is not to be missed.<\/p>\n

Who are they? AWOL Gallery<\/strong> and Studios is celebrating its 13th year of showcasing Contemporary Art in Toronto. The Ossington Avenue location houses the gallery along with fourteen studio spaces and has been a pioneer of the Queen West Gallery District and Ossington revitalization. This seven-artist collective has produced hundreds of exhibitions, as well as 13 grand annual group shows of varying formats since it\u2019s inception in 1999.<\/p>\n
