Call for submissions \u2013 Emerging artists exhibition at O\u2019Born Contemporary<\/strong><\/p>\n

O\u2019Born Contemporary is pleased present its second annual exhibition of emerging artists in January 2013. Works in all mediums will be accepted. Selected works will be exhibited at O\u2019Born Contemporary with a prize awarded for best-in-show.<\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Original work in any medium is eligible.
\n\u2022\u00a0Submitting artists should be emergent, meaning not commercially represented.
\n\u2022\u00a0Submitting artists must be 18 years of age, recommended 18 \u2013 35.
\n\u2022\u00a0Submitting artists must reside in the greater Toronto area (GTA).
\n\u2022\u00a0Students may submit.
\n\u2022\u00a0There is no fee for submission.<\/p>\n

Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n

Submissions must be delivered by email to submit@oborncontemporary.com<\/a> by July 31, 2012, 6pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Work must have been produced after January 2011.
\n\u2022\u00a0Works must be available for purchase. O\u2019Born Contemporary will collect a thirty-five percent (35%) commission on sales.
\n\u2022\u00a0While only digital submissions will be accepted, selected works must be exhibition-ready (framed, mounted where necessary \u2013 no loose prints or paper).
\n\u2022\u00a0Inclusion in the exhibition is contingent upon accurate reproduction of the original work. Work will be turned down, where too great a variance exists.<\/p>\n

Guidelines for Submission<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Only digital submissions will be accepted.
\n\u2022\u00a0Each artist may submit up to five (5) works.
\n\u2022\u00a0Technical Requirements:
\no\u00a0JPG files, 1-4mb in size.
\no\u00a0Filenames must be formatted as follows: artistlastname_imagetitle.jpg.
\no\u00a0Image title of JPG must match image title in image list.
\n\u2022\u00a0Submissions must be accompanied by an image list including:
\no\u00a0Title of work
\no\u00a0Medium
\no\u00a0Year of creation
\no\u00a0Dimensions
\no\u00a0Edition (if applicable)
\n\u2022\u00a0Submission must include an artist bio and\/or CV along with an artist statement referencing the submitted works or general artist practice.
\n\u2022\u00a0Submissions missing any requested information will be discarded without notification. Only one email per artist submission will be accepted.<\/p>\n

Calendar<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Notification of acceptance will be emailed out on or before October 15, 2012.
\n\u2022\u00a0Accepted artists will be responsible for delivery, in person to O\u2019Born Contemporary, 131 Ossington Avenue, Toronto by December 20, 2012.
\n\u2022\u00a0The exhibition will open Friday, January 4, 2013. Artists are encouraged to attend.<\/p>\n
