The scars they bear suggest \u2018impact\u2019 literally and symbolically and suggest a strained relationship with their environment.\u00a0 Idealized visions of mechanical beauty are subverted to something tarnished and tortured yet still alluring.\u00a0 By compressing and \u201cpulling\u201d the digital image\u2019s data the wrecked car degenerates further and serves as an uneasy, modern vanitas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Giovanni Senisi<\/strong> is an emerging Toronto-based artist and has been teaching Art, Design, and Photography since 2001.
